About Sea Rocks
Hi, im Gillian, creator and owner of sea rocks jewellery
My love for jewellery began in childhood due to my grans vast collection,i would spend hours trying it all on and admiring it. My journey in to the jewellery making world began in 2006 with gemstone beaded jewellery and personalised jewellery using metal stamping. I have always been creative and passionate about making things look nice. I have dabbled in a few creative industries over the years but jewellery making is my main passion. Im a qualified nail tech and loved the transformation of nails much like the transformation of jewellery from start to finish. The many hours of filing acrylic nails has came in handy when learning about filing metal.
I am a one-woman band, pouring my heart and soul into every piece of jewellery I create. Each piece is crafted with attention to detail using traditional silversmithing techniques and incorporating natural elements into my designs, I love to create jewellery that is both unique and environmentally responsible. All the silver i use is recycled and from a uk supplier.
My love for the sea and the coast has been with me for as long as I can remember. I have always been fascinated by the beauty and diversity of sea life, and rugged coastlines. My daughter is the reason i discovered sea glass, she brought a piece to me on a beach and we continued to look for more, finding pieces of broken pottery as well and from that moment on, I was hooked. I began scouring the beaches for more sea glass, then decided to incorporate it in to jewellery designs. Sea rocks was born out of my passion for the ocean and my desire to create.
As i mentioned at the start exploring my grans jewellery collection was one of my favourite things to do. I was mesmerised by the way that each piece shimmered and twinkled in the light. It was during these moments that my love for gems and stones began, and it has remained a constant in my life ever since so i have created a line of jewellery that incorporates gemstones, pearls, and other materials to create pieces that are timeless, elegant and a little bit rustic.
